Year 7 Camp

Learning Beyond the Classroom
Year 7 students at Beaufort Secondary College went on the annual camp to Halls Gap and participated in many different entertaining experiences.
On the first day we arrived, we split up into two groups. Group one went abseiling down a 20 meter rough rock. Abseiling was very enjoyable and exhilarating. Meanwhile the others went for a 4.2 kilometre walk up to the Pinnacle. At the peak it was very windy, but the view was worth it - you could see the whole of the Grampians National Park. That night we had a funny, chaotic talent night.
On day two and three we went out of our comfort zones traversing the high ropes course; went canoeing on Lake Bellfield (which was a bit hard to get the hang of, but once you did it was fun) and visited the Halls Gap Zoo. On our final night we watched Madagascar and went on an adventurous night walk.
After a couple of interviews with other students we learned that most people enjoyed abseiling and the Pinnacle hike the most. It was a great opportunity to have fantastic experiences with our mates.
