General Information

RWPS at Gleadell Street Market
On Saturday 2 May we hosted a stall at the Gleadell Street Market, our first fundraising and local community event for 2026. Families and staff at school made and donated gorgeous summer and autumn hot sauces, fruit jams, jellies, dried fruits, marmalades, herb salts and chutneys. Val’s dog biscuits all sold. We sold home-baked slices, biscuits, cakes and brownies. We also had Vivian’s vivid art prints, Grandma Jen’s hand knitted beanies and Marg’s colourful bunting. Excitingly, we had armfuls of fresh herbs and coriander seeds for cooking from the RWPS Kitchen Garden grown and harvested by Jill and the kids. Thanks to all our work, the stall looked bountiful and amazing!
A real focus of this market was showcasing our school to the local Richmond community. With 2027 prep school choices imminent, we wanted to demonstrate the vibrancy and warmth of our school community. We had Val L from our school teaching team to answer questions about what a bilingual Chinese education looks like.
We had so much produce made we were also able to hold a pop-up market stall after school on Friday so that parents and kids who couldn’t make the market on Saturday were able to purchase some of our beautiful homemade goods.
Together, we raised around $2,800 for our school also.
We’re really grateful to the many people who made this stall work. A huge thanks especially to Maureen H for co organising this stall. Helpers and makers included: Joy, Val L, Val W, Anna P, Tash, Jess, Jill, Pete, Bronwyn, Sarrah, Tim, Meng, Tom C, Maureen K, Marg B, Simone, Danielle, Roger, Jen, John L, Katherine H and Erin B.
Next market stalls will be on Saturday 29 August (Father’s Day) and Saturday 5 December (before Xmas). In the coming months, please make sauces, jams, pickles etc for these upcoming markets. Donations of backyard fruit and vegetables for turning into preserves are very welcome.
What a great community! Thank you RWPS!

Wanted: Glass Jars
The Fundraising and Community Events team need help with collecting medium and small sized cleaned glass jars (250-300ml) with metal lids in good condition. We use these for chutneys and jams to sell at the Gleadell Stall. Vary large and very small jars don’t work, as it is not economical to sell jam in very large jars and people don’t want to buy small jars of jam.
Please make sure the jars are clean and dry inside. Please also take the time to remove the labels and any sticky residue left by the labels (eucalyptus oil or methylated spirits are great here!) Thank you for doing this: you really help the jam makers by ensuring jars are clean and label free.
Bring them into the before / after school care kitchen on the southern side of the building. Look for JARS signs and the boxes of jars
Thank you!
