A Gentle Reminder to Foster Kindness and Inclusion

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope this newsletter finds you well and in good spirits. As members of a community committed to the values of respect and dignity for all, it's essential that we come together to reinforce these ideals, especially among our young boys.

It’s important to recognize that words have power—they can uplift and unify, but they can also hurt and divide. We are blessed to be part of a community that sees every individual as created in the image and likeness of Christ, a belief that calls us to love and respect each other as Christ loves us.

In this spirit, I kindly encourage you to have a heartfelt conversation with your sons about the impact of their words, including the importance of steering clear of hurtful name-calling and racial slurs. These discussions can be significant, transformative moments that help them grow into compassionate and inclusive individuals, truly embodying the 'Men for Others' ethos we cherish.

By nurturing an inclusive "TC Spirit," we not only enrich our own community but also set an example of love and acceptance that resonates beyond it. Let us take pride in guiding our young boys to be leaders in creating a world where everyone is treated with the love and respect, they deserve.

Congratulations to Lawson Duffield and Joshua Lim from Year Six, who have been selected to join this year’s SSWA State Swimming team. They will be competing on the Gold Coast in July. We wish both boys the best of luck in the upcoming event.

In other exciting news, William and Patrick proudly displayed their innovative cardboard elevator, a project from our GATE program. A big thank you to Lissa Coleman and Ricki Boe for their exceptional guidance and to our creative boys for their inspiring work.

For those who send their sons to Homework Club after school Monday -Thursday, please remember to pick up your sons from the Senior School by 5pm as our staff have commitments post-work and appreciate your cooperation in timely pickups.

Thank you for your continued support in fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

Shopfront Excursion

On Thursday the 2nd of May, the students in 6 Blue visited The Shopfront in Bentley as part of the Junior School Christian Service Program. To give some background, the Shopfront is an organisation that caters for a range of marginalised people within our society. The Shopfront provides food to the homeless, helps families with hardships and also provides a place for people to come and socialise. Damian Walsh, who is the director of The Shopfront, spoke to the boys about the importance of what they do there, as well as taking the boys on a tour of the facility.

Later on in the year, the boys will donate items that will go towards Christmas Hampers that will be given to Damian at our Thanksgiving Mass.
