Blessed Edmund Rice Day & Fun Run for India

Blessed Edmund Rice Day brings the school community together to commemorate and celebrate our history and charism as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition. The focus of the day is on service to others, where students are introduced to the local charity organisation that they will support throughout the year.

As part of the day's celebrations, students will also participate in the Fun Run for India! Students have been asked to collect sponsors for the fun run. All families are encouraged to donate/sponsor through the Online Store (button below); Junior School and Year 7 students will also receive a hard copy sponsorship form (all other students may collect a sponsorship form from Secondary Administration if they would like one).

All funds raised from Fun Run for India sponsorship will be directed to projects in India. These include:

  • MITHRA in Chennai: a home and school for disabled children who would otherwise be neglected due to poverty and the social stigma associated with disability.
  • Jagruti High School in Mandal: a school for children from the tribal community of Gamit People, people with the lowest social status in India.
  • Jim McGinnis’ work on the railway stations of Kolkata Feeding and clothing and consoling the poorest of the poor.
  • Christian Brothers’ work with the poor in Kolkata, providing education, support to disadvantaged/underprivileged families and outreach to those most in need.

Pull on your socks for Pink Sock Day!

On Saturday 11 May, Trinity College will take part in our 9th Pink Sock Day for the McGrath Foundation. The event will see our 1st teams representing the College wearing pink socks in their sporting fixtures against Aquinas College.

Through Pink Sock Day we hope to support women’s health, focusing on our mothers and all the women who encourage our boys through school and life in general, whilst educating our TC men to demonstrate a greater awareness and appreciation towards women's health. Most importantly we aim to raise money to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia.

Initiated by 2016 Head Prefect Lochie Taylor, we ask the TC community to continue to support his legacy and the College in reaching our goal. Over the years, far have raised more than $15,000, and together we can continue to make a difference. As well as raising money by wearing the socks, there will be additional fundraising activities taking place.

We require every 1st team member to purchase a pair of socks at a cost of $20 per pair. Rather than the boys doing this separately, we are asking that the Team Manager collects $20 from each player during week 2.4, and the students will be given the socks on the day of the game (11 June).

To raise money on Pink Sock Day itself and to encourage everyone to contribute to the cause, we ask for a gold coin donation on arrival to Waterford on the Saturday morning. We also encourage all mums and females of influence to attend and, more importantly, to wear pink.

Our Junior School students are encouraged to wear something pink on Thursday 9 May, during their own PSA sporting fixture, for a gold coin donation.

Finally, all families are welcome to donate directly to TC’s McGrath Foundation fundraising page, using the button below.

Thank you for your contribution and generosity for this important cause.

Take Two: A Comedy of Errors

That's a wrap!

That’s a wrap on our 2024 Senior School Drama Production Take Two: A Comedy of Errors by Hilary Bell! The boys pushed beyond their comfort zones in bringing this play to life in front of a live audience last week which was a huge success. This playful adaptation of Shakespeare’s work was no easy feat as five of our talented TC dance and drama boys brilliantly tackled the roles of seventeen characters adding to the comedic mayhem: complete with singing, dancing, audience interaction and sleight of hand. We are thankful to our TC community who joined in the fun and showed their support to the Performing Arts. The cast and crew are to be commended for their hard work, commitment and dedication to their craft.
