Eid Mubarak
Last week, Springvale Rise held a belated Eid celebration in the Community Hub. The event was a beautiful opportunity for people to come together to connect, celebrate and enjoy the sensational food that was prepared by our amazing mothers…seriously they are MasterChef’s! The Community Hub was buzzing for hours in true Springvale Rise style, with family members from three generations present at the gathering. It was so nice to have people from various cultural and religious backgrounds, coming together to acknowledge this special time of year for our Muslim families. A big thank you to Julie Raciti for organising the event, and everyone who contributed to the cooking, set up and clean up. What a lucky community we are!
Our JLC students had the greatest time at the Melbourne Zoo last week! Both campuses made their way to Parkville and for many students, it was their first time at the zoo. Students were able to get up close and personal with the lions and explored the various other elements of the zoo, including the extinct animals and the animal features artefacts.
The Heights Campus has a new shade installation at the end of the Community Hub building. The shade was built using grant money that was allocated to the school in 2022, as part of the Shade Grants initiative from the Department of Health. The shade will support outside play and outside learning for the playgroup children and the other hub classes. We will now begin planning some much-needed upgrades on the Springvale Campus…watch this space.
A reminder that parents are invited to our campus-based assemblies each week, we would love to see you there! Have a great week ahead!
