All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Mother's Day, celebrated annually on the second Sunday of May, is a time-honoured tradition dedicated to honouring the selfless love, sacrifices, and unwavering support of mothers worldwide. It's a day to express gratitude and appreciation for the extraordinary role they play in shaping our lives and nurturing our growth.

As we celebrate Mother's Day on May 12th 2024, it's an opportune moment to reflect on the invaluable contributions of mothers in our lives. From the moment of conception, mothers embark on a journey filled with boundless love, devotion, and sacrifice. They are the architects of our earliest memories, the guiding lights that illuminate our path, and the steadfast pillars of strength during life's trials and triumphs.

On Mother's Day, we celebrate God’s treasured gifts to us; our mums, grandmothers and special women in our lives who care for us and love us.

We ask God to pour out His blessing upon them. They show us God’s unconditional, tender love. We honour our mothers, those who are  and those who are not with us today, and those who have died and are with God. Through the love they show, the way they nurture and care for us, mothers help us to understand what God is like. We especially remember Mary, Mother of Jesus. We pray to her to keep our families safe.

Let us pray for our mothers,  that God’s love shines

 in their hearts and minds.

Let us pray for happiness …  that our mothers know fulfilment and contentment in their lives.

Let us pray for joy …  that our mothers know good times, laughter and fun in their lives.

Let us pray for peace … that our mothers know satisfaction and a sense of achievement in their lives.

Let us pray for contentment … that our mothers know pleasure and enjoyment in their lives.

Let us pray for courage …  that our mothers know strength and resilience in their lives.

Let us pray for love …  that our mothers feel valued, respected and appreciated.
