Last term, as part of the Student Excellence Program at Carnegie Primary School, some of our Grade 4 students were selected to participate in an online workshop with a highly acclaimed artist, Fiona McMonagle.

Presented in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra, this virtual event showed students how images and artworks inspire Fiona’s art making practice. Participants were able to see how artists experiment with materials and techniques throughout the different stages of developing an artwork. They followed along in the virtual classroom as Fiona demonstrated different watercolour techniques, she uses to create her unique works of art.
