Harmony Day Wrap Up
We all had a great day altogether on Harmony Day Thursday 21st March. Our students looked amazing in all of their orange colours and special cultural dress. The day was filled with many different cross age activities and special classroom activities to celebrate Australia’s diversity and to learn how we can be inclusive to others around us.
Freya and Arthur in Year 6 organised the day by promoting the theme for Harmony Day 2024, ‘Everyone Belongs’. They also visited various classes with a world map to mark all of the different countries our students are from. And we loved their idea to have prizes to award students for displaying inclusiveness at school.
What a lovely way to end our term 1!

LATINO BOYS PRESENTATION
On Harmony Day, Thursday March 21, the Grade 3 boys showcased their Latin American heritage to their peers. We are lucky enough to have the representation of five countries where spanish / español is spoken, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Spain. (In total there are 21 countries where Spanish is the official language).
Felike, Kiran, Patrick, Juan and Sebastian shared information from their parents respective countries, they showed the georaphical location, the colours and significance of their flags, which they proudly wore in the colours of their football soccer shirts.
During the presentation, each boy shared a brief glimpse of the country's unique and rich heritage, the different food and culinary aspects that make each country stand out, as well as a famous person from Shakira, Frida Kalho to Rafael Nadal and Lionel Messi.
It was an incredible presentation, where parents proudly watched as the boys were able to share some of the importance of their heritage, their similarity and differences, proving that our cultural diversity is our strength in today's Australia's multicultural society.
