Welcome to our Language Assistant
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new language assistant, Monica Sestito, to our team and to our College.
Monica will be working Tuesdays and Thursdays and will be working along side Justin D’Andrea supporting our Year 11 & 12 Italian students in the classroom and assisting the Year 12 students as they prepare for their end of year oral exam in October.

Italy Study Tour 2024 – Student reflections
On reflection, I found the Italy study tour to be a great experience especially as a first-time traveller overseas. Some of my memorable events during the tour were:
The guided tours that we were taken on. Some my favourites were, Herculaneum, Pompei and our tour of Florence. I really enjoyed these tours as they gave me the chance to learn more about the history of these places and the differences in culture; like the different dialects. I also really enjoyed seeing the Vatican (my head hurt from looking up at the amazing structures and art pieces), and the Trevi fountain in Rome.
I also really enjoyed the homestay. I thought that the homestay experience was great. It gave us a chance to experience the everyday life of an Italian. I had some of the best food I’ve ever had during my stay there. My homestay family was great as they practically welcomed me as one of their own. During the experience I went to my homestay's basketball games and hung out with his friends and family. In general, I would really recommend this tour to any student studying Italian, I had the time of my life and it’s an experience that is truly unforgettable.

I loved my time in Italy! The food and the people were wonderful, as were all the sights we got to see. I really enjoyed getting the opportunity to practice speaking Italian, and the homestay experience was great. I didn’t want to leave. I think my favourite place was the Amalfi Coast, since there were so many different things to see there and the scenery was lovely. I would love to go back someday!
