Learning Support Update

Hello Steiner School families and friends, 

Learning Support team welcome Katie Frey as she officially takes on the role of learning support teacher in the upper classes, with Jaia Ocean coordinating in the early years.    

Though not such an obvious presence as your class teacher, the Learning support team includes Inclusion Assistants in every class, practical support for teachers, and extra tutoring for students with specific learning difficulties (SLD). 

Observation of individual student needs with an awareness of integrated movement and balance difficulty, sensory processing and social/emotional factors have always been key to educational support in Steiner schools. Most educational settings now address these aspects learning ability.

A healthy sense of self in all students is our goal and this develops with strong learning outcomes.
