Emotional literacy is described as the ability to understand ourselves and other people. This includes the ability to understand, express and manage our own emotions, build empathy, and to respond appropriately to the emotions of others. Scoresby Primary students focus on building their emotional vocabulary which helps increase emotional literacy, self-awareness, and empathy for others.

This is achieved through several programs. If you require further information about the amazing range of programs we offer, please reach out to me - nicole.rheumer@education.vic.gov.au

Friendology

Friendology lessons are well underway this term. Students are using the language of friendships to talk through any friendship fires.

When friendship fires occur, students are supported to work through the Friend-o-Cycle to restore friendships to a healthy stage. Students should be able to explain this process and hopefully use it when friendship fires occur at home.

Parents and carers can further support students to build their empathy, tolerance and resilience by accessing the URSTRONG portal. Upskill yourself as 'Friendship Coaches’ using the URSTRONG/Friendology Parent membership. Please use this LINK  https://urstrong.com/parents/
