Principal's Message

Dear Families,

A reminder that students are able to be picked up at 1:00pm on the last day of school, Wednesday 18th December. Our bus will be operating at 1:00pm, and depending on the demand, a 3:00pm bus or van may be available. Lady Gowrie will be in touch with OSHC information. Remember that bus bookings are essential for the last day of term.

Staffing updates:

At the end of this year we farewell Fiona Roberts from the John Paul II staff. Fiona has been a valuable member of the community as a parent, volunteer and TA since 2011. 

We wish Fiona all the best in her retirement!

We wish Rebecca Johnson and Kathryn Jaeger all the best as they take 12 months leave from John Paul II Catholic School. Rebecca has accepted a position at St Kieran’s Catholic School, Mt Isa, and Kathryn has accepted a position at St Mary’s College, Hobart. 

We hope you will both enjoy the next adventure!

We welcome Luc Aitchison and Tom Edwards to the teaching staff. Luc is currently teaching at Lindisfarne Primary and Brighton Primary.  Tom is currently teaching at St Paul’s Catholic School and has experience as both a teacher and TA at St Paul’s and Corpus Christi. Both have experience in our current literacy programs, explicit instruction and working with students with diverse learning needs. Welcome Luc and Tom!

Megan Hickey has been appointed to the position of Instructional Teaching & Learning Coach. Megan will continue to teach in Grade 1 as well as joining the leadership team. Congratulations Megan!

Students will have an opportunity to meet their new teachers at Step Up Day on Monday December 16th.
