JSC

The Junior School Council is a group of responsible and peer-elected students, from Foundation to Grade 6,  who will meet regularly to discuss ideas, suggestions and carry out a variety of school-based and social service tasks.

In 2024, JSC was actively involved in:

-Continuing support of World Vision sponsored child Teresia John, from Kenya. Two free dress days were run to raise the full annual subscription to support scholastic needs and water supply in the African region of Lower Yatta.

-Helping with selling ANZAC and Remembrance Day badges and items.

-Promoting care for our school animals with a “Footy Colours Day”, raising funds for supplies to keep our animals fed, safe and happy.

-Supporting Book Week with a “Dress-up-as-your-Favourite-Book-Character-Day” and raising funds to support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. In liaison with Mrs. May Vos-Rutter the school enjoyed an author visit by Andrea Rowe.

-Organising a “Pink Day” to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness.

-Collecting funds, through a “Crazy Hair Day”, for the Lighthouse Foundation to assist in their programs for Youth Homelessness.

-Donating funds to the Starlight Foundation for their "Make a wish" program

-Representing the school in the “Road Safety Program” organised by Mr.Wickham

-Supporting staff and helping at assembly.

2025 classes are in the process of  nominating and electing their reps.

Watch this space for the 2 elected reps for each class.

JSC's first meeting will be in week 4 of Term 1.

Looking forward to another great year,
