Ready, Set GO.....
It was lovely to welcome back our 2025 staff on Tuesday 28 January. We welcome all staff to our school community – those who have been on our journey before now, and those who are new to our school community. We especially welcome: Kevin, Sarah and Amanda.
On Wednesday all our Year 3 to 6 students commenced and on Friday our Year 1 and 2 have also returned back to school for the new year. Our Foundation students will commence their school journey on Monday 3 February. We look forward to see their excited faces and welcome their parents with a cuppa in the hall.
This year our Preps and Year 1's have participated in some pre-assessments in Literacy and Numeracy in week 1. This provides us with a great starting point to organise their learning to meet their needs and development.
This is an exciting year as it is a Jubilee year. A Jubilee is celebrated every 25 years. It is also the year that we will participated in a school review and will be setting our next four year improvement plan. The theme of the Jubilee is Pilgrims of Hope. As the door to a new school year opens in this Jubilee year it invites us to open our lives to the great possibilities of growth, comfort, inspiration hope that God has in store for each of us.
God of welcome, we ask that you help us to be people of your hospitality, inclusion, and kindness. May we become true pilgrims of hope who travel together in 2025, animated by love, supporting and encouraging each other in the smallest of ways. We look forward to a successful year together. May our journey together in 2025 be full of joy.
St Francis de Sales Feast Day Celebrations
On January 24 was the feast day of our patron saint St Francis de Sales.
St Francis de Sales lived in Savoy, Francis near Anncey from 1567 to 1622.
St Francis de Sales is known for his gentleness and patience, a faith filled person who had great compassion for others and is known for his charity and work to help others.
He is known as the doctor of the Church and the patron saint of writers. He has many sayings that he shared. "Be who you are and be that perfectly well." is a favorite at our school.
We are lucky to have St Francis de Sales as our saint and embrace his chrism. May we bring hope and love to one another in the choices we make and in or words and deeds.
