PFA  News

Thank you to our all parent volunteers

A big thank you to all the parents who volunteered at or supported the PFA’s various fundraising activities and events during 2024. Some 2024 highlights include our iconic Easter Egg raffle in term 1, all the fun and excitement of the School Disco and Parent Trivia Night in Term 2, the Fathers Day BBQ in Term 3 and our very first Colour Run in Term 4.

But we know it's not just about the big events.  All parent contributions — big or small — make a real difference. We know the CPS community simply wouldn’t be the same without those smaller ongoing activities the kids adore like Popcorn and Icypole Fridays, along with much-loved fundraising drives like hot cross buns or mangos. We’re also thrilled that 2024 saw the return of the Scholastic Book Club to CPS after many years.

Thank you in particular to the PFA members. Your contribution not only earns you invaluable kudos with your kids but also strengthens and improves our school community as a whole.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’d love to see more parents join the PFA. We’ve got an exciting calendar of events planned and there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved, from joining the PFA itself on an ongoing basis through to organising a one-off event or simply volunteering to help out ad-hoc.

Getting more parents involved with the PFA will bring fresh ideas, add value and help us to continue to build a strong, vibrant and connected school community.

Colour Run - over $20k raised!

What an unforgettable day our students had at CPS’ very first Colour Run last month.  The energy, the laughter and all the colour made it a day to remember for all our students.

Thank you again to all the teachers, staff and parent volunteers who helped make it a day to remember.

We’re thrilled to announce that together the CPS community raised just over $20,000. This is a truly incredible amount that will be put towards further improvement to the school’s outdoor play spaces.

Special thank you to Sandra Michela

After 10 years of contribution to the PFA, we farewell Sandra Michela as her younger twins (that’s right Sandra and Malcolm have two pairs of twins), Max and Camila finish grade 6. Sandra has generously donated her time for a decade, as a general committee member, secretary and most recently president of the PFA. Sandra’s warm, approachable presence both on the PFA and around the school grounds will be greatly missed.

Thank you Sandra, for your commitment to community building, fundraising and sustainability. You are an absolute gem!
