End of Year Reflections from the School Council
By Verity Walker
As the school year draws to a close and we look forward to the summer break, on behalf of School Council I would like to share our pride and gratitude for all that has been accomplished throughout the school year. This has been a year of learning and growth, achievement and community, and none of it would have been possible without the dedication and partnership of every student, teacher, parent, and staff member in the Carnegie PS community.
A Year of Success and Progress 2024 has been a year to remember! As a school we have celebrated academics, artistic achievement, and athletic triumphs. Whether in the classroom, on ‘the stage’, or out and about in the wider community, our students have excelled, demonstrating the values of welcoming, engaging and achieving that define our school.
Our school has also made significant strides in fostering inclusivity and innovation. Through new programs, expanded resources, renewed outdoor spaces and a commitment to continuous improvement, Carnegie PS is creating an environment where every student can succeed and feel valued.
The Power of Community This year, we have benefited from amazing examples of what we can achieve when we work together. From the tireless efforts of our parent volunteers and the PFA, to the success of our creative and performing art events, your support has enriched the experiences of our students and strengthened the bonds that unite us at Carnegie.
A special thank you to teachers, whose unwavering commitment inspires our students in their learning daily. Your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed, and School Council are grateful for all you do.
Farewells and New Beginnings To our graduating year 6 students, congratulations! As you embark on the next chapter of your school journey, know that you carry with you the lessons and friendships that will last a lifetime. To our families and staff who are moving on, thank you for your contributions to the school. You will always be a part of the Carnegie PS community.
Looking Ahead The coming year promises even greater opportunities as we continue to prioritise excellence in education, get comfortable in our newly refurbished facilities, plan for a fete and deepen our commitment to fostering a culture of respect, learning, and growth.
Thank You and Best Wishes
On behalf of School Council I extend my thanks in particular to the school leadership team who strive to deliver excellence in education and an enriched learning environment for our students and teachers daily.
Wishing all students, families and teachers a restful and joyful holiday season. Here’s to another year of excellence, opportunity.
