                   End of Year Newsletter

As the year draws to a close, I want to reflect and celebrate the incredible journey my Prep class has been on.  You may want to sit down as this is a long newsletter!

This year, we focused on student voice, and the Preps shone brightly! They created a variety of short videos, including reflections in Book Week, fluency reading, and an interview style video about being a good friend.

Just last week, the Junior classes enjoyed a festive outing to Ballarat, where they celebrated their hard work with a excursion to the new Creative Play Arts Centre (CPAC). CPAC provided a world of imagination, where sensory-rich environments and engaging activities promoted exploration and self-guided discovery. There was so much to see that the students turned into little speed rockets, darting in and out of rooms like they were on a scavenger hunt for invisible treasure. The students were offered a wide range of play-based experiences designed to ignite their imagination. It was a wonderful experience that brought smiles to all of the students and teachers.

The whole school also has a had a festive treat last week, thanks to the wonderful Miss Kennedy, who organised a special Christmas incursion! Junkyard Beats brought the holiday spirit to life with their amazing high-energy performances. Their routines featured drumming, body percussion, dance, and junk percussion, creating a joyful rhythm that had all the Preps joining in with excitement. They had an absolutely fantastic time and even picked up some fun new skills along the way!

It has been an absolute joy to witness the Preps’ growth and achievements this year. While I will miss them dearly, I know they are ready to soar in the year ahead. A heartfelt thank you to all of my Prep families for your unwavering support and clear communication, which have made this year feel seamless. You should all be very proud of your children. I am extremely proud of them and the growth they have ALL made. I have had an amazing year with them all.

I would also like to highlight the incredible effort from Mrs. N, who has gone above and beyond for all the Prep students. The support she has shown me personally is something I will always treasure. Miss Jenni joined our class in the final term, and it goes without saying that you have been amazing. You always are! We were truly fortunate to have both of you in our classroom this year.

Hopefully I will see you before the end of the year but I would like to wish you all and your loved ones a restful, joyful Christmas and a New Year filled with health and happiness.

Below, you’ll find a short Christmas-themed video featuring the students sharing their festive wishes. Unfortunately, a couple students were away the day I did this, so these are some of their wishes for Christmas.

Charlie: For Christmas I would like a toy remote car and an airplane that I can fly outside and a drone. Merry Christmas to everyone

While the video may be have quite a bit of background noise, the joy and excitement of the Preps shine through as they share their Christmas dreams. Hopefully it  is not too late for these requests to make the Christmas list!! I hope you enjoy it.
