Principal's Message

Rachel Baker | Principal

Dear Parents,

I hope families have settled back into school life over the past two weeks. I am delighted to continue leading St Aidan's Catholic Primary School alongside my executive team and staff as we begin the 2025 school year. We are blessed to have a community built on trust, respect, and mutual support. The students have settled in wonderfully and are already demonstrating great dedication and hard work.

Reflecting on our achievements in 2024, I am inspired and excited for all that we can accomplish together as a team in the coming year. I also feel it’s important to share my beliefs and values as a leader here at St Aidan’s:

  • I believe we can see Jesus in the eyes of everyone we encounter.

  • I believe we are people who lead with the heart.

  • I believe each of us possesses unique talents, and the role of education is to create opportunities for every child to grow and develop those gifts.

  • I believe that true partnership with our parents enhances a child’s learning experience.

  • I believe that this year, we will grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

  • I believe in setting high expectations.

  • I believe that a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment is key to effective learning.

  • I believe that a swim in the ocean can cure almost anything.

  • I believe that smiling and laughing are essential every day.

  • I believe we all make mistakes, but what matters is that we rise, learn, and keep going.

  • I believe we can overcome any challenge when we communicate openly with one another.

I thank you for being part of this journey at St Aidan's as I believe together we will achieve great things.

ST AIDAN'S 2025 SCHOOL THEME

Our school theme this year is “May we always seek what is good, true and beautiful”.

  • We can seek GOODNESS through developing kindness, compassion, and a sense of responsibility.

  • We can seek the TRUTH by being curious, honest and demonstrating a love for learning.

  • We can seek BEAUTY by appreciating the beautiful world around us by expressing creativity and celebrating diversity.

May this year be one of GOODNESS, TRUTH and BEAUTY.

OPENING SCHOOL & LEADERSHIP MASS

Thank you to all who attended our Opening School Leadership Mass today. It was a wonderful way to start the year coming together as a school and parish family. We welcome all of our new families, Kinder students and new students in other grades to the St Aidan's Community.

Congratulations again to our Year 6 Leadership team and all of our Year 6 leaders who have commenced their final year at Primary School. As leaders you are role models for your fellow students, demonstrating qualities such as integrity, compassion, and a strong work ethic. Our Year Six leaders were presented with their badges at this Mass. With these badges the students were entrusted with the responsibility to lead our school community. Our leaders will not only wear them with pride, but also with humility, knowing that leadership is not about elevating oneself but lifting others up.

OPEN DAY - TUESDAY 4TH MARCH

We have our Open Day on Tuesday 4th March 9-10am & 4-5.30pm. We are continuing to advertise this day in our local community. You will see advertisements at our local shopping centres, Pre-school centres and at the front of our school. We will be sending home flyers, as we have done in the past, to our families. We kindly ask that you distribute these into letterboxes in your street. Please spread the word about our amazing school to the broader community. We are looking forward to many new visitors coming to our Open Day.

May this year be one of GOODNESS, TRUTH and BEAUTY.

Take care and God Bless.

Kind regards,

Rachel Baker
