This week in Writing, the students are developing the skills to construct their own persuasive writing.
VOCABULARY
Persuasive writing: Is a type of text that aims to convince an audience of a specific opinion or belief.
Arguments: Statements and reasons that are put forward to persuade or explain.
Convince: To cause someone to believe or accept a particular idea.
ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING
This week to support your child in their persuasive writing, you can ask them to write:
- A topic
- An introduction
- Three arguments
- A conclusion
Examples of Persuasive Topics:
Should we have longer school holidays?
Should children be allowed to have pets?
Should students be allowed to bring toys to school?
