Text to Self: Connecting what you’re reading to your personal

experiences or life.

 

Text to Text: Connecting what you’re reading to another text you’ve

encountered before.

 

Text to World: Connecting what you’re reading to something that you have heard or seen in the world. 

 

 

 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

When you are doing nightly reading with your child, ask them the following questions: 

  • Can you connect this text to yourself?
  • Can you connect this text to another text you have read?
  • Can you connect this text to something happening in the world?
