Learning from Hubs

Writing at St. John’s

As a result of our whole school focus for 2023, our staff worked on a statement that captured the learning, experimentation and purpose of writing at St. John’s. Please find the ‘Why’ statement below.

As a result of this, our focus this year is to continue to build our pedagogical content knowledge around the explicit teaching of writing. Due to the feedback we received from both families and staff, we have begun our professional development focus with understanding the ‘why’ behind teaching handwriting.

We plan to continue our learning journey to explore the ‘how’ and the ‘what’ explicit handwriting instruction can look like at St. John’s.

Cross Country

Congratulations all children who participated in the District Cross country. We had some children perform well and receive ribbons. Very proud of all these children and how they represented our community. Pearl placed 1st, Isla placed 2nd with Tilly 6th and finally Bryan came 5th! What a great effort!

District Swimming

Alec, Freya M and Georgie represented St John’s in the Western Metropolitan Region Division Swimming Championships today.

Parent Information Session (Webinar)

‘Raising Kids in a Digital World’, presented by Marty McGauran (Educator) & Carley McGauran (Psychologist)

This webinar will cover topics such as social media, online gaming, impacts of screen time, managing devices in the home, child and tween online trends, explicit/adult content and strengthening family communication.
