Principal's Report

Dear HPS Community,

I am so pleased to say that our second attempt at the HPS Family Picnic evening was a great success! The weather was perfect, the array of picnic foods looked (and smelt) delicious and the faces all round were happy and smiley. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the evening and contribute to the positive and connected environment that was created.

Ms Santeara's Year 5 class informed me at the beginning of the week that today is World Compliments Day. They were very keen to spread kindness and compliments all around our school and so put up displays with compliments written on the bottom. Students and staff were encouraged to tear off a compliment and give it to someone throughout the day. My heart is certainly full after receiving many considerate and thoughtful compliments throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who joined in to spread warmth and happiness. I wonder how many compliments will be shared with families over the weekend?

Year 3 Chess Classes

Engaging in a game of chess is said to have many benefits such as improving cognitive skills like memory, planning, and problem-solving. Our Year 3 students are lucky to be involved in a series of chess classes this term to assist them to learn the game and develop some strategies to assist them. It was great to see the students who know the game working with students who are learning for the first time. Keep up the great skills!

SAC will operate on pupil free days for those who require care. Bookings for these dates will open 10 days prior. Please speak to Vimmy if you have any questions or queries regarding this service.
