School Captain's Message

A couple weeks ago we picked our JSC representatives for this year, and last week we had our first ever meeting. All the members are such amazing individuals and they are already showing great leadership skills! They had so much to share and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for the rest of the year. We are so lucky to have these new members and they will definitely be a great addition to our team!

That same day as our first meeting we also had our district swimming carnival. It was a joy to see so many people having so much fun swimming and the whole thing went very smoothly. Especially since it was such a hot day!

Thank you,

Hello WVPS students and parents,

Last week, we had our first official Junior School Council meeting and I was so pleased to see all the JSC working as a team and contributing to the meeting. They were each amazing and confident speakers and I am incredibly happy to have them on our team. I am excited to see what the new JSC would like to do to change the school and how we could turn them into actions.

The community picnic is coming up on 14 of March and I am so excited because last year's picnic was amazing and it encouraged people to try new things. It was a great experience for the students and parents to come together and enjoy all the food and the games. I always thought that the picnic was to raise money for the school, but being on the JSC helped me realise that the money is for covering the event and instead, it is a way to bring the school community together.

We will have over 20 games and food stalls such as cotton candy, the luck dip and even coloured hair spray! Each class will be creating some of the advertisements. There will be lots of food choices such as popcorn, bbq, hot drinks like coffee and lots more. We will have fun and enjoyable games such as coin toss, pick a duck, mark the footy and some games even come with amazing prizes!

I look forward to this great day and I fully encourage everyone to come along and have fun!

Thank you,

Devanya - School Captain
