Our Minecraft Self-portraits

Minecraft is recognised as the best-selling video game in history with 126 million players per month. It has sold 200 million copies worldwide. In Australia, it is the most popular game among boys and girls aged 7-14. Stage 2 teachers understand that children learn best when they are interested and engaged. We used the students’ passion for Minecraft as the basis to complete self-portraits and the results are not only meaningful and relevant, but also very creative.

Year 3 studied the novel, Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl in Weeks 2-6 and connected the informative writing in English with ICT, Science (Living Things) and Australian History.
