NAPLAN 2024

NAPLAN started last Wednesday and continues until Monday 25 March. Years 3 and 5 are scheduled to take their tests in class groups, as all tests are online, except Year 3 Writing.

Students have four tests over four separate days - Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy. The tests are taken in this order.

If your child is sick, they should stay at home. A 'catch-up' session will be available to students until 25 March (except for Writing).

Behaviour

We want to ensure a safe and happy school for your child. Supporting student behaviour is critical for promoting, engaging and lifting student performance and wellbeing. We aim to provide an inclusive learning environment that is collaborative, supportive and cohesive. As a school we aim to provide positive and respectful learning environments that promote wellbeing, engagement and improved academic achievement.

At times, students will exhibit behaviours of concern. Our role is to teach our students through inclusive and positive student behaviour support and management (PB4L). We teach and model the inclusive and safe behaviours we value in our students.

There is a Behaviour code for students that applies to all students enrolled in NSW Public Schools. Please see the link below:

Harmony Week

This week is Harmony Week. Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

On Tuesday, 19th March, our school is celebrating by wearing orange. From theHarmony Week website - "Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. Australians can choose to wear something orange during Harmony Week to show their support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia."

Our school is proud to promote cultural diversity, respect and belonging. We encourage students to wear orange on 19th March.

Quote for Week 8

“The key to community is acceptance, in fact the celebration of our individual and cultural differences. It is also the key to world peace.”
