Positive Habits and Gratitude

Gratitude ignites joy, strengthens bonds, and nurtures resilience. Gratitude isn't just a sentiment; it's a transformative force.

The habit of gratitude not only helps us feel good but it can also be good for us. Brain research has shown us that positive emotions:

  • open us up to more possibilities
  • balance out negative emotions
  • lead to other positive emotions such as being calm, joyful or happy
  • lead us to take more positive actions, and
  • help us reach optimal performance, have better sleep and feel less fatigued.

Our Kildare Learning Mentor program has designed content around being grateful and the importance of setting up gratitude practices.

Our Brigidine Learning Mentor program has looked at cultivating positive habits as the key to success and wellbeing.

Remember to:

  • start small: commit to daily exercise, healthy eating, and sufficient sleep
  • establish a study routine that balances productivity with breaks for rejuvenation
  • embrace time management techniques to conquer deadlines without stress
  • engage in mindfulness practices to stay grounded amidst challenges
  • seek out opportunities for growth and self-improvement
  • remember, consistency is key!

As parents/carers of our learners, any reflective conversation around progress helps embed the practices focused on in our Learning Mentor program. As supporters of our learners - celebration of small victories along the way acknowledges struggle and fosters critical thinking skills and also helps to deepen comprehension.
