Capital Works: 

 

Yaluk building --new steps have been installed from the toilets so there can be access from the new building.  These will be mainly be needed for the new classrooms as there are other toilets near the Hospitality Kitchen, Art Room  Gyms &Performing Arts space.

Staff who will be moving in to the new rooms will be given a copy of the floor plan so they can start planning where they will be arranging tables and other furniture.  We are not taking any old furniture into the new building. 

Staff also need to think about what they are taking to the new building and if they need to cull before the move happens.  This also applies to Room 16-18 who will be transitioning to the secondary wing later on.

Vacated rooms will need to be left empty of classroom materials so Rooms 16-18 can move easily into rooms once the transition has occurred.

Playgrounds

 If staff & students are involved in messy play (rice, pasta, paper) in the playgrounds around the school could you please use the outdoor vacuum if needed (located in the cleaner's room) to clean up the debris? If it rains on these items, they are hard to remove from the artificial grass surface.

 

Electronic Mag locks: The locks around the school have been changed to a 3 second delay. The locks will now immediately lock when you have transitioned through them. I am investigating self-closing hinges for the 12 electronic mag lock gates. Once I have found a robust solution, they will be fitted to the gates this will ensure the gates close after you have transitioned through.

 

ICT & Facilities job notifications: 

Log any jobs for Maintenance on SharePoint. This will enable Jacob and I to schedule the works and ensure they are completed in a timely manner. 

Log any jobs for ICT Support on SharePoint. This will enable Loc and Luat to schedule the works and ensure they are completed in a timely manner. 

Please make sure you log the correct jobs on the correct logs. 

 

Air conditioners can staff please make sure AC units are turned off. TURN OFF the AC units in the OT room & climbing room as you leave at the end pf each session.

 

Electrical tag & testing started Monday 26 February and will continue until Wednesday 29 February. If you are part time please ensure you bring your notebook in to be tested. All ES must bring their DET supplied notebook to be tagged and tested during this time.

 

Can staff please continue the great work from 2023 and put the sand back in the sandpits in all playgrounds after each playground break? If brooms and dustpans are needed, please log this on Maintenance and they will be purchased.
