We are halfway through the term, and both students and staff have well and truly scoped out their new environment and settled into the ‘new normal’ that is a new classroom or area of the school. Keep in mind that as students become more comfortable, we begin to peel back the layers and personalities begin to blossom. You may start to uncover new behaviours, particularly from students that are new to the sub school, or new to JSA as a whole. This is where the collection of data is going to be essential, in coming to understand how to best support students.
Playground 1-1 Supports Review
A reminder to send through updated information for students who are either listed as requiring 1-1 support, and those students who we may just need to be aware of in the playground environment.
Data Collection
Data is essential for the creation of behaviour support documentation (BRP’s and BSP’s) as this information is provided to our wonderful learning specialists and other leaders to assist in forming a plan forward to support students requiring tier 2 and 3 interventions.
In the event you require support, or simply would like some clarity on the how of data collection, please reach out to either myself or a learning specialist who would be more than happy to assist.
SSG’s
SSG’s should now be completed. Minutes are to be distributed accordingly:
Excursions
The Annual Excursion Planner for each classroom is now due. This helps map out the year- and is indicative only.
If you have an excursion taking place in Term 2, the Risk Assessment and Excursion Notification Form is now due.
If you have an excursion taking place in Term 3 or 4, you can opt to complete the Risk Assessments and Excursion Notification Forms now. This means you don’t need to remember to do it next term.
If you are organising an excursion that requires funds I would strongly suggest making a purchase order as soon as you can. This means once approved, you can proceed ahead with planning. This will mean you will avoid spending time planning for something that may not go ahead.
Please keep in mind that there will be excursions and incursions organised via myself, as well as the PE staff, SET team and various other staff throughout the year.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
