EVPS Olympics Day: A Triumph of Spirit and Sport

What a fantastic day we had for our EVPS Olympics last Friday! The sun was shining brightly, creating the perfect backdrop for a day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and athletic achievements. Our students proudly represented various countries, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to the winning countries/classes: 6AA - Greece, 2ST - Columbia and 2VL - South Africa! Your dedication and teamwork truly shone through.

A huge thank you to all participants and volunteers for making this event such a memorable success, especially Nicole, Aaron and our student leaders. Thanks also to the parents who came along to watch and cheer in the opening and closing ceremonies.

Bullying No Way Week of Action

This week, and all year round, we are united in our commitment to preventing bullying as part of the Bullying No Way Week of Action. Our classrooms have been buzzing with important activities focused on how to stand up against bullying and be an upstander rather than a bystander. It’s inspiring to see many people sporting their ‘pop of purple' today in support of this crucial cause. Together, we’re making a difference in creating a safer and more supportive EVPS for all.

Staff wellbeing week

This week at EVPS, we’ve been celebrating staff Wellbeing Week with a range of activities designed to celebrate and support our dedicated team. Our staff have embraced themed dress-up days with enthusiasm, adding a fun twist to the regular day.  On Wednesday we had a special morning tea which provided the perfect opportunity for colleagues to connect and enjoy each other’s company over hot chocolates, pancakes and ice-cream. Additionally, early finishes and no after school meetings have been a welcome chance for everyone to relax and recharge, supporting a healthy and caring work environment.

Upcoming Event: Book Week & Character Parade

Next week, we are thrilled to celebrate Book Week! Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of literature and imagination. Don’t forget to prepare your costumes for the Character Parade—it’s going to be a highlight of the week on Wednesday! We can’t wait to see everyone dressed up as their favourite book characters or carrying their beloved books.

Ramp Rectification Works

We want to inform you that ramp rectification works will begin next week. The Victorian Schools Building Authority has approved Modus Projects to ensure that three ramps across our school meet compliance standards. These essential improvements are expected to take around 14 weeks. During this time, some areas of the yard will be fenced off for safety reasons. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to enhance our facilities.

Teeth on Wheels: Dental Appointments Update

We’re pleased to announce that Teeth on Wheels will be returning to complete additional dental appointments. Due to the overwhelming response, with 260 students booked in to have their appointments, we’re excited to offer opportunities for convenient dental care.

2024 Parent / Carer / Guardian Opinion Survey

Please complete the Parent /Carer / Guardian Opinion Survey. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we have encouraged all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. The link has been posted to all families on Compass on 30th July and again on 14th August. We currently have 6% of families who have completed the survey.

Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. Here’s to another fantastic fortnight at EVPS!

Kind regards,

Rachel Griffiths, Acting Principal
