Prep Spotlight

Our Prep students have been very busy at school since we reported on our 100 Days of school celebrations. We have been learning about shapes, patterns and positional language in maths, and focusing on using capital letters to start our sentences. We have finished learning the basic code of phonics and are now learning all about the ‘s’ suffix for plurals and verbs, adjacent consonants and the -ck digraph.

We have started a new unit of inquiry exploring our emotions, including understanding how we can express ourselves through art. To investigate this further, we went on our very first school excursion, visiting the Museum of Art and Play in Sandringham.

The children had the opportunity to explore various zones within the museum, each designed to stimulate different aspects of learning through play and art. From building their own structures with giant blocks, experimenting with simple machines and drawing faces on walls, the exhibits allowed students to discover and apply basic principles of science and expression in a playful environment.
