Unlocking Potential: Principal Preparation (UP)

Some of you may be aware that I have been completing a course, Unlocking Potential: Principal Preparation (UP) to develop my professional knowledge, capabilities and confidence to lead for learning in ways that significantly impact on students and outcomes, collective efficacy, and schoolwide improvement. As part of the course, I will be completing an internship and working closely with another principal at their school. As of next week, Monday 19th August to Friday 6th September I will be offsite completing my internship. Please contact Rohan and/or the school office for any support or questions that you may have during my absence.

Child Safety and Wellbeing at Caulfield South Primary School: Information for Families and the School Community

The Victorian Government has announced new Child Safe Standards to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The new standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.

Caulfield South Primary School has reviewed and updated our child safety policies and procedures to ensure they meet the requirements of the new standards. We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and wellbeing and welcome feedback from families and members of our school community on ways we can further strengthen our child safety policies, procedures and practices.

REMINDER: 2024 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey (PCGOS)

WE WANT OUR PARENTS/CAREGIVERS/GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

All families are invited to participate in the survey.

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 29th July to Friday 30th August 2024.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The survey results will be communicated to parents/caregivers/guardians through the newsletter.

Art Displays

If you have not been up at the school in a while, please ensure that you visit and have a wander around the main building of the school. Our school is looking beautiful and colourful with our amazing student’s work from art lessons with Mrs Pappas, on display. Mrs Pappas sets high expectations of her students in the art room, meaning that she believes that all students can and will achieve. Teachers who set high expectations, such as Mrs Pappas, have an open mind about each child’s potential, learning and development.

High expectations for every student is crucial because students tend to live up or down to the expectations of the important people in their lives. Teachers communicate expectations to students through their words and actions. The expectation of success is a powerful motivator for students, promoting resilience and willingness to work hard.

I am sure you will agree with me that the work produced in our school’s art room is of a very high standard and quality!

Stitching by our very talented Prep students!
