Wellbeing - Middle School
Putting my Best Foot Forward
Over the last few weeks, I have had the pleasure of visiting the Year Coordinator meetings and with the assistance of the Year Coordinators and their assistants, presenting the Student Attribute Average (SAA) awards to our Middle School students. As written previously, the SAA not only aligns with the College’s Strategic Plan but also with the College’s Learning and Wellbeing Frameworks.
Students with a high SAA across all their courses have been recognised amongst their peers. For us, it is such an effective opportunity to acknowledge student excellence in their application to learning.
Not every student can achieve ‘first place’ but they most certainly can demonstrate “their best”. And that is the primary aspect I ask of all our Middle School students. It is also pivotal in ensuring feedback for students and parents/carers is provided on how students have performed in their application to learning. Similarly, it provides opportunities to inform conversations relating to student wellbeing and fostering a growth mindset to develop a school-wide culture of excellence.
I encourage all students to strive to receive this important award throughout their time here at the College. Below is the complete list of students who have been presented with this award. Well done.
Kids Giving Back Initiative
I take this opportunity to celebrate the incredible contributions of our students who participated in meaningful ‘giving back’ activities at Kids Giving Back during Term 2 and the July school holidays.
Our students were part of an extraordinary group of 900 young legends who provided over 6,800 meals, snack packs, and care packages, and wrote heartfelt messages to support 15 charities across Sydney. Their leadership, compassion, and commitment to making a difference is to be commended.
