Learning Space One Seniors Fantasy Narratives
In Learning Space One we have commenced our genre writing of Fantasy Narratives. We have been developing our knowledge of rich vocabulary that we can embed into our writing that connects closely to the theme. With the theme being ‘Space’, the students spent time researching key words and adjectives that they can use to amplify the setting of their Narrative. The students have built on including rich, descriptive vocabulary and adjectives as well as using dialogue to help us as a reader to understand more about the characters personality. Have a sneak peek at just a few of the start of our pieces. Stay tuned as all things ‘Space’ will be the theme of our upcoming Assembly in Week 5.
Ready, Set, Soar! Welcome Back to Term 4 - Our Journey Continues!
The LS1 Juniors returned to school this week, buzzing with excitement, eager to share stories from their holiday adventures! From sun-soaked getaways to Bali, Hawaii and New Zealand, to coastal escapes in Phillip Island and Geelong, and even city staycations, their break was filled with unforgettable memories! Our students also enjoyed making the most of their time with friends and family — some savoured delicious treats at food festivals, while others enjoyed fun-filled days at the park and pools, or watched the latest movies at Fountain Gate. For the Brisbane Lions supporters, the highlight was the electrifying victory in the 2024 AFL Grand Final!
With all that excitement bubbling over, we thought, what better way to share our holiday experiences with the rest of the school than by turning them into captivating recounts? Be sure to stop by LS1 and take a peek at our beautifully crafted recounts that will be on display the next time you pass by!
We’re ready to embrace the excitement of Term 4 and all the adventures that await us! 😀
Have a lovely weekend!
LS1 Junior Teachers,
Natasha, Melissa, Aoife, Sue, Kristy, Rhonda and Ursula.

WHOLE SCHOOL SPORTING EVENTS
SWIMMING
What a great first week at swimming! Students had a great time and are learning lots of new skills in the water and becoming confident. Thank you to all the SFS staff who helped the program run smoothly. A big thanks also to the parents who assisted the Juniors in the change rooms. We greatly appreciate it.
A reminder to parents that swimming timetables have been uploaded onto the Operoo permission form as an attachment. Please print it off and ensure you have it available at home.
- Monday – LS1 Juniors and Seniors, LS3 Juniors
- Tuesday – LS2 Juniors and Seniors, LS3 Seniors
Please ensure your child is wearing their bathers under their sports uniform and brings a bag with their towel, undergarments and thongs. It would be great if all students come prepared for their swimming lesson so that our office staff don’t need to take up valuable time ringing parents to bring students’ swimming gear.
Parents please note you are welcome to attend Casey Race to view your child’s lesson but photographs and videos are not allowed and only parents who have been contacted by me, are able to assist in the junior change rooms.
A reminder to parents that swimming is an important part of the PE curriculum and all students are expected to attend. It’s imperative that students know how to keep themselves safe around water. Students not attending swimming because of a medical reason will remain at school in another Learning Space.
