BANKSIA YEAR 12 ALUMNI SESSION
By Maryam Naqueebulla, Banksia Alumni captain.
Our Year 12 Banksia students connected with our esteemed alumni in an interactive session scheduled on 5th of August 2024 during our Pathways class. This session was held to inspire, inform, and encourage our Yr 12s as they prepare to embark on their next journey.
The Banksia campus had 5 Alumni who came back to Keysborough College to participate in this event. They come from various fields such as arts, aviation, physiotherapy, commerce and computer science.
Students had the opportunity to engage in a Question and Answer segment where they could ask about career choices, university experiences, and how to navigate the transition from high school to higher education. Students picked any two Alumni of their choice and joined the two discussion sessions.
This meeting brought the chance to hear inspiring stories for our Year 12 students to visualize their futures and gain invaluable insights from those who have walked the same path. Many students left feeling inspired and motivated, having learned about various career pathways and the real-world applications of their studies.
The interactive Q&A segment allowed students to ask questions and engage in meaningful discussions, deepening their understanding of the challenges and rewards that lie ahead in their own journeys. Overall, the experience was both enlightening and enjoyable, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated.
Thank you to our alumni Anh Tran, Raghav Anand, Cassidy Laird-Smith, Seth O’Donnell and Vaggeli Sarantis
