This week in Maths we are learning to make patterns.

VOCABULARY

Pattern - something that happens in a regular or repeated way.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Using everyday items around your house, e.g.: pencils, crayons, toys, socks, cutlery etc. Ask your child to create a pattern. 

Simple patterns are AB patterns. For example: fork, spoon, fork, spoon, fork spoon.

You could challenge your child by asking them to create a more complex pattern. For example: Fork, fork, spoon, fork, fork, spoon or blue sock, yellow sock, red sock, blue sock, yellow sock, red sock etc.
