Reading is Magic
This year, BNWPS has many exciting events planned for book week. We will be celebrating book week From Monday 26th to Friday 30th August. There will be more information coming (please check Sentral!), but you might like to pencil these events into your calendars now;
Monday 26th August 9.00am - 1.30pm | BNWPS WRITERS FESTIVAL | Students and staff will take part in some exciting writing activities throughout the day that will include an Author visit (F-2), a Writing Workshop about Myth and Magic (3-6), Writing Electives (3-6) and a Poetry Wall (F-2) |
Monday 26th August 2.30pm - 3.30pm | BNWPS WRITE NOW! | As part of our Festival, we invite parents and carers in to join us in the classroom as our whole entire community writes together. |
Wednesday 28th August
(Parade at 9.00am on the Basketball Court) | Book Character Dress Up Day | Dress up as your favourite book character! If you’re stuck for ideas, maybe the 2024 Book Week theme of ‘Reading is Magic’ might help you out.
Parents and carers are welcome to join us for the Costume parade on the basketball court just after the start of the day. |
Friday 30th August 2. 45pm - 3.30pm | Spring Family Afternoon | Parents and carers are invited into our classrooms to celebrate our published writing pieces. |
Friday 30th August 2. 45pm - 3.30pm | Great Book Swap For the Indigenous Literacy Foundation | While our Spring Family afternoon is running, we invite all members of our community to bring a pre-loved book and a gold coin to the corridor closest to Sprout. After donating the gold coin, you can swap your book for another magical read. |
