On the 7th of august the girls and boys’ basketball teams went compete against other schools in Wyndham council. We started by arriving at eagle stadium and began drills and warmups to prepare and soon it was time for the first match. During the first match we versed Werribee. The team put in a great combined effort and showed great communication and sportsmanship but resulted in a loss due to the small difference in points. Still after a 15-minute break we were ready with unwavering determination and energy. We versed Good News Lutheren and won! Then we had a 45-minute break where we ate and discussed gameplay. After the break we were as ready as ever for our third match. We versed Bemin and drew, but sadly we didn’t make it the semi-finals and ended our journey there. Even after losing we went and cheered the boys team during their semi-finals.

On Wednesday August 7th, the Brinbeal boys’ basketball team went to Eagle Stadium to compete against 11 other high schools. Coming into this experience the team was very excited and eager to have this opportunity to showcase our skills and we did not disappoint. In our first two games we won by a combined points of around fifty to sixty entering us into the semi-finals. As a little congratulations, Mr. Davies got us all hot chips from the canteen, they were delicious. It gave us all fuel to go into the semi-final against manor lakes and win it, entering us into the grand-final. We all tried our hardest but sadly we lost. The whole team was experiencing injuries or muscle cramps. Overall, I just want to say I'm proud to be a part of such a fun and amazing experience as well as the effort put in by the boys and will be looking forwards to these kinds of activities in the future

Brinbeal Secondary College was represented by a team of 12 students at the Division Athletics Competition on Thursday 22nd August. We had a very strong team who not only competed in their events but also assisted with the long jump competition and photography throughout the day. We congratulate all of students on their efforts. And wish Elijah, Muriel, Sahasra and Hrishi good luck for when they represent the College in the Regional Athletics Competition early next term.
