Heidi & The Hat Full Of Happiness 

BOOK WEEK TRAIL

Our annual picture book trail was a highlight of Book Week 2024!

Rather than using a professionally published book, as in previous years, a passionate team of writers and illustrators were tasked with creating the book we would use. These amazingly skilled authors were from our Grade 6 cohort - Manasvi, Kendrick, Eliza, Hayden and Grace. 

Over many weeks, these students worked through the writing process; developing an idea, drafting the text, imagining the main character and crafting the detailed illustrations for the final copy. Many hours and lunchtimes were spent getting the details just right! They then worked with the very creative Mark Dinnie, one of our support staff, to carefully publish every page. 

‘Heidi’s Hat Full of Happiness’ tells the story of Heidi whose day ‘wasn’t off to a great start’. However, she goes on a journey to discover that joyful moments are all around if only she chooses to look for them.  

If you are yet to read this beautiful story, please pop into the Grade 6 foyer as it will be on display until the end of Term 3.
