Bunjil Library Walk and  Author Talk

On Thursday the 22nd of September, as part of Oatlands Book Week, 29 Grade 5 students were invited to the Bunjil Library.

We walked down, had a quick snack, then went inside the library and sat down upstairs. Sarah Speedie started talking about four of her published picture books; Boss Cat, Mozzies Versus Flies, Meowster Chef, and her latest one, Wild About Book Week. 

Sarah chose six volunteers to act out her book, Meowster Chef. The students had lots of fun acting out the book and we had a great laugh. Finally, we asked Sarah questions about being an author, her writing processes and how her books were published. 

After Sarah Speedie had finished, some students did a scavenger hunt around the lower library level, finding ten different books. Some students had brought their library cards, so they borrowed books of their choice and sat down to read before the walk back to school.
