Bullying NO WAY! - Wear a touch of Purple

At Newport Lakes Primary School we promote inclusion, respect and belonging every day.  On Friday 16th of August we will be joining the National Day of Action against Bullying, BULLYING NO WAY. Every class throughout the school will be taking part in discussions around this topic and working on a class activity to promote the 2024 theme, Everyone belongs.

As purple is the new hero colour to represent the day we ask that the students wear a touch of purple (if possible). All students should wear their school uniform but may have a purple beanie, T shirt, ribbon etc to mark the day.

A Day at the Museum

Thursday 12th September, Williamstown Town Hall

Doors Open at 6pm, Show starts promptly at 6:20pm

A Day at the Museum

A day at the museum is an exciting play, where five students from NLPS go on an excursion to the museum with their exhausted, overworked, underpaid school teacher. They learn the importance of having a growth mindset. This means believing in the power of trying hard, not giving up, and learning from mistakes. Overlooked by the sophisticated, suspicious curator Professor Karen, they explore different exhibits, facing challenges and worries, especially when their friend, Growth Mindset, who always stays positive and curious, suddenly disappears. Despite obstacles, they realise that thinking like Growth Mindset helps them see problems as chances to learn and grow. By the end of their adventure, the students understand that having a growth mindset means asking questions, trying new things, and believing they can get better at anything with effort and practice.

This play shows how a growth mindset can help us all be more confident, keep trying, and achieve our dreams.
