BULLYING...NO WAY!

The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence has a new name—Bullying No Way: National week of action.

Bullying No Way Week, 12 to 16 August 2024, is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative and connects schools and communities to find workable solutions to prevent bullying.

This week we have been spreading awareness for the importance of standing up to how people are treated and what to do if you see someone who needs help.

During the alternative lunch program students worked collaboratively to make flags covered in messages to show we are saying NO to bullying.

Purple was the new hero colour representing Bullying No Way: National week of action and to show our commitment to standing against bullying we were all in purple hues Wednesday.

MENTAL HEALTH

What is it exactly?

In simple terms, it refers to being in a mental or cognitive state where you experience either positive or negative feelings. When you're in a good cognitive state, you might feel happy, calm, or satisfied, which can influence how you think and act. On the other hand, being in a bad cognitive state could make you feel stressed, sad, or frustrated, affecting your mood and behaviour. This idea highlights how our thoughts and emotions are closely connected, and how they can shape our overall experience of the world around us.

If you think about it,  your mental health can be likened to a garden; if you don’t care for it on a regular basis, the weeds of stress and worry can take over leaving you feeling overwhelmed and out of sorts. Just like a garden needs sun, water and careful care, so does your mind ~ needs attention and a healthy dash of kindness in order to thrive.
