Little Learners

Over the past two weeks, our Little Learners have continued to learn through play, creativity and exploration. It has been wonderful to see the children's confidence and independence continue to grow as they become increasingly familiar with our routines and expectations at All Saints. After several weeks of wet weather, we were all excited to finally enjoy some outdoor play again!
Our literacy learning has focused on developing early writing skills and letter recognition. The children have enjoyed exploring phonics books, practising their names and experimenting with sensory writing experiences using shaving cream, colourful goop and watercolour paints. As always, The Very Hungry Caterpillar has remained a favourite story, providing opportunities for sequencing, retelling and language development.
In Mathematics, the children have been using counters, blocks, threading activities and connecting cubes to develop their understanding of counting, patterns and one-to-one correspondence. Puzzles and maths games have also helped build confidence and problem-solving skills.
Creative Arts has been a highlight, with the children completing their colourful egg carton caterpillars, creating butterfly artworks and experimenting with a variety of painting techniques. There has certainly been no shortage of paint, much to the delight of the children (and perhaps slightly less so for the adults responsible for the clean-up!).
The children have also enjoyed movement games, outdoor play and spending time with their Year 5 and 6 buddies. These special interactions continue to foster positive relationships and help our Little Learners feel connected to the wider school community.
