From The Team
Welcome back to another exciting fortnight in the Senior School! Our students have been busy learning, participating and celebrating together through a range of wonderful activities and events.
As part of National Reconciliation Week 2026, students took part in classroom activities that encouraged learning, respect and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and perspectives. It was wonderful to see students engaging thoughtfully and proudly as true “Scoresby Superstars.”
Our recent Crazy Hair Day brought plenty of laughter, colour and creativity to the school, with students and staff showing off some very imaginative hairstyles.
We also thank the many families who attended our Open Morning and Open Night. It was fantastic to welcome parents and visitors into our classrooms to see the learning taking place across the school.
Congratulations also to our selected students who proudly represented the school at the Division Cross Country event. We are incredibly proud of their effort, determination and sportsmanship.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make our school a positive, inclusive and vibrant learning community.

Crazy Hair Day
On Friday the 29th of May 2026 Scoresby Primary School had the opportunity to wear crazy hair for the day. At the beginning of the wonderful day SRC brought all the gold coin donations from their classroom to the office.
Students came in all sorts of different hair styles, wigs, colourful addons and more! The SRC (student representative Council) spoke to their classes about ideas for fundraisers, the most requested fundraiser was crazy hair day. Then they brought all of the different ideas to Mrs Hartley and we ended up picking a crazy hair day!
Students had a blast coming with unique hair and admiring all of the different hair styles. It was super fun to see everybody's crazy hair and have them express themselves for the day. Students loved this event and the SRCs hope to do something like it again sometime soon.

Open Night - Education Week
On Wednesday the 20th of May our whole school held an open night from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. In each classroom there was a different activity. There was a sheet you got at the start to fill out in every classroom.
In the playgroup we decorated animals with stickers. In the Art room we drew pictures of ourselves on a large piece of paper. In the next classroom which was the wellbeing room we drew emotions and described a time when we felt that emotion. Next was the science room where we did a plasticine particle model. There was a box with a torch to see the little figger inside.
In the prep room we made a hybrid animal using different animal parts. In 1/2P we played board games and in 1/2F we cut and slotted paper birds together.
Next in 3/4F you could make and decorate chatter boxes using origami paper. In 4/5A you played a bunch of math games and in 5/6H we played boggle where you have a sheet with letters and you must create words that connect. When you have gone to every classroom you return your sheet at the office for the chance to win a prize.

Division Cross Country
On March 21, student representatives from Scoresby Primary School competed in district cross country.
Throughout the day, different ages ran different distances, under 9s 10s, ran 2 kilometres, while the under 11s and 12s ran 3 kilometres. Races were separated into girls and boys, boys under 12s starting the day off.
There were around 30-40 students from different schools competing in each race. The top 12 got into division, and the top 10 got a ribbon. Everyone else was congratulated with a certificate for finishing the 2/3 kilometres.
Around 20 students competed, around 8 students made the top 12 and competed in division cross country. Even though not every student made it, they all did an amazing job completing the long distance.
On the 27th of May, those who made it to Division competed in the Knox division, Gilbert Park. On the day of division cross country, it was unfortunately very poor weather conditions. The track was very muddy, and competitors tried their best not to slip. Worse, it poured down raining occasionally, leaving some students having to compete in the rain.
There were many students at the race. It was a large race and very wet. But despite the unfortunate weather, all students still tried their very best and did extremely well.
