School Performance Report - 2025

We recently received our School Performance Report (SPR) from the Department of Education. Each school receives an SPR annually. The SPR outlines how our school has performed on a selected set of student outcomes measures, compared to all other government schools. Our performance is also compared with ‘similar schools’ - these are schools with a similar profile to us, in terms of size, demographic and cultural diversity.

There are two broad performance groups in which we are measured.

Learning, which takes into account:

  • How our students have performed on NAPLAN
  • How our teachers assess student outcomes in English and Mathematics, against the Victorian Curriculum
  • Student outcomes in VCE English
  • Senior secondary completion rates

Wellbeing, which takes into account our student attendance rate, as well as specific sections of the Attitudes to School Survey, focusing on:

  • Emotional awareness
  • Managing bullying
  • School connectedness
  • Stimulated learning and student voice

Performance in each of these categories is described as High, Improving, Medium or Developing.

We are pleased to share that Glen Eira College has been rated as ‘High’ for both Learning and Wellbeing.

Specific highlights of our SPR include Glen Eira College performing well above similar schools in relation to:

  • The proportion of students demonstrating high or medium growth in their NAPLAN reading performances
  • The proportion of students who report a positive endorsement of their emotional awareness and regulation
  • The proportion of students who report a positive endorsement of stimulated learning
  • Our College’s attendance rate

We have also performed above similar schools in relation to:

  • The proportion of Year 9 students classified as Strong or Exceeding in their NAPLAN numeracy test
  • Growth in numeracy, measured against both NAPLAN results and teacher judgements against the Victorian Curriculum
  • The proportion of students who report a positive endorsement about how our school manages bullying, their connectedness to school, and their sense of student voice and agency

We can all be proud of these results as they reflect a balanced approach to education at Glen Eira College - we have an emphasis on maximising student academic outcomes and achievement, whilst also ensuring our students feel safe, supported and connected to the College.
