Year 7 Colour Scheme Painting

In their exploration of colour theory, Year 7 students have focused on understanding the principles of the colour wheel. Through this study, they have gained insights into harmonious and complementary colour combinations, which they have applied to their paintings. Selecting individual designs, students have skillfully implemented their chosen colour schemes, refining both their painting techniques and fine motor skills in the process.

Year 7 Name in Perspective

Students were required to draw their first name using one-point perspective. Coloured pencils were used to tonally render the form. Gaining inspiration from examples of decorative patterns, students applied their own pattern to the front of the name.

Year 9 Expressive Eyes

You have probably heard the phrase: ‘The eyes are the windows to the soul’. Portrait artists throughout history have tried to depict a glimpse into the soul of their subjects using a variety of expressive styles. Students have explored a range of media and techniques to create an expressive artwork based on the subject matter of ‘Expressive Eyes’. The final artwork was created on the surface of a timber block.

Year 9 VCD Mobile Phone Cover Decal

Students created a mobile cover design based on the design periods; Art Deco and Art Nouveau. They had to accurately measure their mobile cover and produce a decal to scale. Their decal design was drawn digitally using Illustrator. The design was then cut onto vinyl and attached to the student's mobile cover or orthogonal drawing.
