MELBOURNE ZOO EXCURSION
On Tuesday the 18th of November we have our Melbourne Zoo excursion. The students are very excited after having such a great time at the farm. The bus will be leaving by 9:00am so we are asking that students arrive at school at around 8:45am. We will make an announcement when it is time to come inside, so we can get ready to walk to the bus together.
Students need a small backpack that they will carry around all day. It needs their snack/lunch and water bottle. Please do not pack any heavy thermoses or big bottles as the students must carry them around for the day. Students do not need their reading folders on the excursion days or their normal school bags. No students will be allowed to buy a souvenir or food – so do not pack any money for them.
NUMERACY WEEK DRESS UP DAY
On Monday 17th November, students are invited to wear free dress. Their top (t-shirt/jumper/windcheater) must be a clearly identifiable, single colour (something you can look at and say, “That’s red/blue/brown,” etc.). We will be looking at the data around how many people are wearing each colour. The remainder of the clothes can also be free dress as well, only their top needs to be a clearly identifiable colour.
HOLIDAYS
Please notify your child’s classroom teacher via email and in advance if your children will not be attending the last weeks of school due to family holidays etc. This helps us plan our activities for the rest of the term. Please ensure this is also updated in Compass.
AFTER SCHOOL PICKUP
If a child is being picked up after school by another trusted adult please ensure you email their classroom teacher so that they are aware. Teachers cannot let students leave with unfamiliar adults without prior communication due to safety concerns. If possible, please also have a chat with your child to ensure they know who is picking them up.
DROPPING ITEMS OFF FOR YOUR CHILD
If you need to drop anything off to school for your child (lunch, hat, jacket etc.) please ensure you go to the office and drop off your items there. They will then be delivered to the classroom. We have had a number of parents dropping things off and going straight into the corridor/to students bags. As it is during the school day, parents coming into the school are required to report to the office first unless arranged otherwise.
VERMONT VIEWS SCHOOL MAGAZINE
The Vermont Views magazine is now available for purchase for $15. This is a great keepsake of 'the year that was' and a fun way to track your child's journey through their school years. The magazine has every 2025 class included, special items from the specialist subjects, and a reflection from the student leaders and the Principals.
Orders can now be placed through the Compass Parent Portal, under the Shop Menu. To access the Shop Menu from the app, click the ‘More’ button at bottom right of screen. Then click on the 'Shop' tile.
If you would like to purchase a copy, you will need to order before midday on Friday 5th December 2025. Magazines will be sent home with your student in the final week of term.
FOOD FOR FAMILIES FUNDRAISER

We’re excited to announce that our school will be supporting the Food for Families fundraiser this year!
From Monday 17th November until Wednesday 3rd December, we’ll be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to families in need during the Christmas season.
There will be three collection points around the school — at the Office, Library, and Learning Centre. On the night of our Christmas Market and Carols, families are also welcome to bring donations to the collection point at the event.
This initiative is proudly put together by our Student Council Representatives, who will be helping collect and repack donations ready to send to families who need a little extra support this Christmas. Even a single item can make a big difference to someone’s holiday season!
Unfortunately, we will be unable to accept:
Thank you for helping us spread kindness and generosity throughout our community this Christmas!
