Grade 5/6 newsletter

The Grade 6 students have been lucky enough to have Brimbank Youth Services coming in to work with the students for three Fridays, helping with the transition to secondary school. The students have been learning skills and strategies for navigating their life in a new environment, being organised and making and maintaining new friendships.
This week the Grade 5/6 students have been learning about Data during Numeracy lessons;
-Grade 5 students have been; planning statistical investigations, writing survey questions, creating column graphs and choosing appropriate displays and justifying their choices.
-Grade 6 students have been; choosing data collection method, identifying problems and collecting secondary data and using digitial tools to display graphs.
Last week it was the Grade 6 students turn to visit Parliament House as part of our Unit of Work around Civics and Citizenship titled 'What is Democracy?'
We may have a new prime minister amongst these super stars!
