Children's Week 2025
Week 4 was Children’s Week, a national celebration that recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children.
The theme for 2025 was: “Everyone should know about Children’s Rights”, reminding us that every child has the right to feel safe, be heard, and have opportunities to learn and play. It’s a great time of the year to talk with your child about what these rights mean and how we can all help make sure every child is respected and supported.
Please see an attached a copy of the document - Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is a child-friendly document so you can have a look through as a family if you'd like.
ES Professional Development
Our Education Support team participated in an art therapy experiential led by our Art Therapist, Olympia, focusing on regulation and co-regulation- how we stay calm and connected while supporting students.
Staff engaged in creative, sensory activities using art materials and music to reflect on their own wellbeing and regulation strategies, and how their presence helps children feel safe, understood, and connected within our school community.
Following on from this was Professional Learning with Vanessa, our Occupational Therapist, where each staff member completing a Sensory Profile and learnt about dysregulation and co-regulation.
Welcome to Maddie!
This term we welcome Maddie to Sunshine Heights Primary School! Maddie is a Speech Pathologist who will be working at our school two days a week supporting staff and students. If you see Maddie around, please say hi.
