Year 9 News

Year 9 OLNA Term 4
This is a reminder that some Year 9 students, along with some Year 10 students with available sits for the year, are due to complete the Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA). The OLNA is scheduled for Term 4, from Monday, 27 October to Friday, 7 November 2025.
Students should check their SEQTA timetable for modifications the week prior to testing. All tests will be held during Period 2, CORE and Period 3. Students completing tests in Period 3 will finish the test during Period 4 and return to their regular class within the hour. Tests will be conducted in Rooms C115 or C116, and attendance will be marked there. Please ensure that your child is aware of their individual test requirements, dates, times, and locations.
Should your child become unwell in the first week of testing, the Reading and Numeracy components can be rescheduled to the second week of the testing window. However, please note that the Writing component can only be completed in the first two days of the testing window.
To maximise their chances of success, all students are strongly encouraged to regularly review the emailed templates and reference sheets, and complete the Skill Builders available on the OLNA Support website. These resources are designed to reinforce key skills and build familiarity with the assessment format.
Year 10 students who have previously completed the OLNA will have received a list of the skills and understandings that they found challenging and should take the time to focus on targeted improvement using the OLNA Support website.
Additionally, the School Curriculum and Standards Authority also provides access to practice and example tests on a secure website. The link to the secure website for practice and example tests is as follows:
