Principal’s Update

It has been a busy fortnight with lots happening both in and outside of school. From sporting events to classroom celebrations, there has been so much to be proud of across our school community.

Remembrance Day

I was incredibly proud of our school community during our Remembrance Day service. Our students showed great respect and maturity throughout the ceremony, demonstrating our school values in both their behaviour and participation. Several students took part in public speaking, sharing thoughtful reflections and readings, while the whole school joined together to sing the National Anthem beautifully. It was a moving reminder of the importance of remembering and honouring those who have served.

Cricket Blast

Our senior students represented Inglewood Primary with pride at the recent Cricket Blast event. They not only showed great skill and teamwork, but also demonstrated our school values and tried their best. It was wonderful to see their positive attitude and sportsmanship on full display throughout the day.

Little Learners Transition

It was wonderful to welcome our 2026 Little Learners and their families to their first transition session. As always, we had a mix of confident starters and a few who needed some extra support to feel settled, but overall it was a very successful morning. The joy, curiosity and excitement in the room reminded us why we love this special time of year. We can’t wait to continue getting to know our newest learners over the coming weeks.

Reflecting on 2025 and Planning Ahead

I have recently had the pleasure of reviewing our 2025 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP), and I can honestly say it has been a year of fantastic growth and achievement. We have met all of our goals, and our student learning data continues to show strong improvement.

Our NAPLAN results for Years 3 and 5 showed an increase in the four-year average, with more students achieving at or above expected levels. Another highlight we are extremely proud of is our Attitudes to School data, particularly the positive endorsement in Stimulated Learning. We aimed to maintain our 2024 result of 89%, but we exceeded this goal, achieving an outstanding 97%! This reflects the hard work of our staff and students and shows that our learners feel challenged, engaged, and supported at school.

As we wrap up our 2025 AIP, we have already started shaping our goals for 2026. Once these are finalised, we will share them with you all. Our main focuses for next year include:

  • Applying to become a School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) school, which will strengthen our consistent, whole-school approach to wellbeing and behaviour.
  • Continuing to embed the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTL 2.0) across all classrooms to ensure high-quality, evidence-based teaching practices.

Colour Fun Run

We are all looking forward to our upcoming Colour Fun Run, one of the most exciting events of the school year! Please keep an eye on weather updates and announcements to confirm if the event will go ahead as planned.

If you haven’t already, please continue your fundraising efforts — every student who raises $25 or more will go into the draw to win a $50 Toyworld voucher. The Colour Fun Run is always a highlight for students, staff, and families, and we can’t wait to celebrate another fun-filled day together.

Halloween Fun

While we took part in some Halloween activities at school, the excitement was definitely alive in our 2/3 classroom! It was an absolute pleasure to see so many of our students dressed up and enjoying the fun of trick-or-treating. What made it even more special was seeing them show our school values in action: being kind, sharing treats with others, and showing respect by leaving treats for the next person.

A massive thank you to our families who decorated their homes; they were the talk of the school the next day! You helped make the night such a memorable experience for so many of our students.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead,
